The entire Bobby Bones Show has been reunited in the studio after the Top Shelf Country Cruise and there were still plenty of stories left to share.
Lunchbox was expected to return from the cruise without a voice, blaming allergies for the condition. The theory quickly became a point of debate. The idea of allergies at sea raised questions, since there are no trees or pollen in the middle of the ocean. Lunchbox explained that the flare-ups happened during stops in Nassau and Key West, where trees were present. After returning home and taking allergy medicine, he said he was feeling better, though still exhausted. The exhaustion lingered even after a few days back on land. With three kids waiting at home and the time change happening right at the end of the trip, he says he didn't have much time to recover.
He wasn't exhausted enough though to share that Morgan was irresponsible on the ship. On the final morning, everyone gathered near the sushi restaurant to prepare to leave the ship. Morgan was there on time with her three bags, but he says she was focused on editing a TikTok video she had filmed during the cruise. Completely absorbed in finishing the video, she posted it just as the group was being called to disembark. Morgan grabbed her belongings and walked off the ship toward transportation to the airport. Then she realized something was missing. Her black bag, the one holding her computer and the show's $5,000 studio camera, was still on the ship. Panicked, she tried to run back to retrieve it, only to discover that once passengers have gone through customs and exited, they cannot return to the ship. She began making phone calls while a scavenger hunt unfolded on the ship. She was told by security that retrieving the bag through official channels could take three to five hours.
While Morgan scrambled to find help, a listener named Chris sent her a message on Instagram with a photo asking if a bag he had found belonged to their group. It was her bag!! Chris shared its location, then one of the show's co-workers Rick retrieved it, and he brought it off the ship for her in time for her to make her flight home. The stressful moment turned into relief, though Morgan admitted it had been a huge mistake. After eight days on the ship, she said she was exhausted and had a major lapse in judgment.
That was not the only mishap. Earlier in the cruise, Morgan had won money at the casino and left with $345 worth of chips. On the final morning, she asked where to cash them in, only to learn the casino was closed because the ship was already at port. Now back in the studio, the chips remained uncashed. With no time left before leaving the ship, the only options were to try mailing them in or wait until the next cruise. Since the group is planning to return next year, Morgan decided she might hold onto the chips and try to cash them in then.
Even after returning home, the exhaustion continued. Hosting events and appearances throughout the cruise meant the trip was far from a "relaxing" vacation. Unlike typical travel where people can sleep in and move at their own pace, the schedule required constant hosting, performances, and appearances. Lunchbox even had another work commitment the night after returning.
The cruise also sparked conversations about the red and blue cards used onboard. Some listeners believed the story about different colored cards was made up, but it was real. With around 2,000 people on the ship and a theater that only held about 1,000, the cards were used to split guests between showtimes and dinner schedules. Passengers with red cards attended shows first and then dinner, while those with blue cards did the opposite. Performers and talent had black cards that allowed access to both shows, well everyone but Lunchbox. Somehow Lunchbox managed to have a red card, rather than a black card like the rest of the show members. Despite speculation from some listeners that the story was exaggerated for entertainment, the situation was genuine. Lunchbox had been given a red card from crew onboard, which led to a series of funny moments during the cruise, including his attempts to sneak into one of the show's. The red card story became one of the most talked-about moments from the entire trip, with many listeners saying it was one of the funniest things they had heard in months.
