Bobby & Eddie’s Grief Advice for Listener Struggling With Loss of Her Mom

A listener called into The Bobby Bones Show seeking some advice from Eddie because she lost her mom almost a year ago and she's really struggling with the loss. She has heard Eddie sound so positive about his dad and she wants to get to the same place out of the sadness.

Eddie noted that everyone grieves differently. He admitted it's been getting harder on him with the loss of his dad now because there have been moments he's wanted to call him and it reminds him that his dad isn't there. But he's been focused on the good memories like when something happens on the show and it reminds him of his dad, he loves that feeling. It allows him to think of his dad in a positive light and to talk about him and the good times. He really tries to focus on all of their good times they shared versus missing him not being here.

Bobby also recalled the moment his mom died and he was at work. He kept working at the time, but then had to start organizing her funeral. He admitted he didn't grieve for almost 2 years, but then things started popping up randomly. And at one point, he didn't have anything distracting him from the grief and he was so sad all the time. He admitted that it really sucks for him that his grandmother and his mom didn't get to meet his wife.

He added that the only thing that really helps grief is time. Although you may never feel whole again, with time you can understand and celebrate the awesomeness of it and also understand the sadness, and two things will be true at the same time.
