Riley Green offered a new behind-the-scenes look at his NSFW “Worst Way” music video on Wednesday (March 19).
The behind-the-scenes video opens with glimpses of the restaurant scene, which was filmed at Grandpa’s Bar in Nashville, Tennessee, and scenes filmed in a home. Green said as he commented on the video in The Making of ‘Worst Way’ that he wrote the song while he was on the road, aiming to “blend traditional country instrumentation with modern edge. what’s fun about this song is that it’s a mix of smooth and reflective with just enough of an edge to keep it grounded in country,” he said in the footnotes. Green said he also aimed to blend his “funnier” personality into the video for the “sexy” and “romantic” song, and believes “we achieved a good balance that makes the video entertaining on multiple levels.
“I definitely knew people would be excited about the video, especially after the love ‘Worst Way’ has already received. I didn’t think we’d break the internet, but it’s been so fun to watch everyone’s reactions online,” Green said. He added that “the restaurant scene was one we had a lot of fun with. The background actors were so perfect, especially the little grandma. We wanted to create a romantic, yet ridiculous storyline and I think we absolutely nailed it. …We had a lot of fun on set and didn’t take ourselves too seriously. This video had a lot of steamy moments, but it also had a ton of comedy.”
Green premiered the jaw-dropping music video last month. “Worst Way” is one of 18 tracks that appears on the singer-songwriter’s third studio album, Don’t Mind If I Do. Soon, Green will kick off his 2025 headlining tour, which includes “you look like you love me” duet partner Ella Langley, plus Drake White, Vincent Mason, Lauren Watkins, Jake Worthington, Preston Cooper, Erik Dylan, Wyatt McCubbin, Mike Ryan and Channing Wilson on select dates.
