Elvis fans love to collect all sorts of memorabilia, but buyers at a Los Angeles auction house were all shook up when one fanatic with deep pockets shelled out $72,500 for a big hunk of the King of Rock and Roll's hair.
The winning bidder received a glass jar containing a baseball-sized wad of hair that Elvis's personal barber, Homer Gilleland, had saved and preserved for decades. He eventually gave it to a close friend who sold it in 2002 for $115,000 -- more than $42,000 more than its most recent sale.
The jar of hair comes with a certificate of authenticity and plane tickets from when Elvis brought Gilleland on tour with him to cut his hair.
DID THEY BUY THIS TO CLONE ELVIS?! ~Shelby
