MUST READ FOR INSTAGRAMMERS: your private profile isn't exactly private?!

This morning I opened up an e-mail from Buzzfeed News that I subscribe to and start each day with. One of the main stories really shook me to the core, and I think some of you may need to see it.

"Private Instagram posts aren’t exactly private. They can be accessed, downloaded, and distributed publicly by friends and followers via a stunningly simple work-around, in a handful of clicks. The hack even works on private Instagram stories, and works after stories, which are meant to last for only 24 hours, expire or are deleted.", read the email. “The behavior described here is the same as taking a screenshot of a friend’s photo on Facebook and Instagram and sharing it with other people," a Facebook spokesperson told BuzzFeed News. "It doesn’t give people access to a person’s private account."

If you are a big Instagram user, like myself, this probably creeps you out. My profile is public, and I'm very open and honest on it, but keep a sense of privacy as to not put myself in the line of sight of any predator. I have to for my profession. Some people have private accounts for this very reason, and if you do, you might want to study up on what's happening.
