Brittany Aldean is still “in a daze” following the tragedy in Las Vegas.
The wife of Jason Aldean, who was performing on stage when a gunman opened fire Sunday (Oct. 1) on the Route 91 Harvest festival, took to social media on Wednesday to recount the terror of the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, thanking the first responders "first and foremost."

“When the gunfire started, I was not with Jason, but with some friends in a tent closer to Mandalay,” Brittany, who is 30 weeks pregnant, writes. “As you can imagine my first instinct was to run to him and his was the same. As we laid behind equipment on stage with some of our road family, bullets flying past, all I could think was ‘I never even got to hold my baby.’”
The incident took the lives of 58 people and injured another 527, and as the names of those victims continue to be released, Brittany “can’t put into words the pain and heartache [she and Jason] feel for the ones who are no longer with us.”
“We were the lucky ones... May god be with [the victims] families and friends during this horrendous time,” she says. “Each and every one of you are and will forever be in our prayers,” she says.
