Brett Young’s smash single “In Case You Didn’t Know” has become the wedding song for many couples, but one guy is staking a different kind of claim. The rising country star tells CMT’s Cody Alan one fan tried to convince his girlfriend he actually wrote the song.
“She emailed me thanking me for recording the song that her fiancée or husband had written,” Brett says exclusively. “I wrote her back and I said ‘Well, I wrote it with these other three people. Is he any of those people?’ She said, ‘No, his name is so and so. He said he wrote it alone.’ Busted!”
“In Case You Didn’t’ Know” held the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s country airplay chart for two weeks.
