Amy shared an awkward airport encounter that happened while riding the tram in Atlanta after trying to help a family avoid taking a tumble.
She had already been riding the tram for several stops and knew it started and stopped very abruptly. When a father boarded with his two young sons, Amy noticed the children were standing without holding onto anything. Seeing a pole nearby, she told one of the boys to grab onto it before the tram started moving. According to Amy, the father immediately gave her a look that seemed to say, "Stop talking to my kid," even though he never said anything out loud. Bobby pointed out that Amy isn't an intimidating person and was simply trying to give the family a helpful warning. Eddie admitted that, as a parent, he understood the father's reaction, saying he probably would have given Amy the same look because he would feel protective and think it was his job to instruct his own children.
The situation proved her point because as soon as the tram started, it lurched forward, causing the young boy to fall to the ground while the father nearly lost his balance as well. Although Amy said she felt bad that the child fell, she also admitted there was a small part of her that thought, "I tried to warn you." The group joked that the father likely directed his son away from Amy because he didn't want his child listening to a stranger. Amy understood that perspective but she had only spoken up because she had already experienced how suddenly the tram moved when she first boarded. She and her friend had nearly been caught off guard themselves and agreed it was one of the most abrupt airport trams they had ever ridden. Wanting to spare someone else the same surprise, Amy decided to give the family a heads-up.
When Bobby asked if it felt satisfying after the father ignored her warning and then nearly fell, Amy admitted it did a little. She never wanted anyone to get hurt and didn't believe anyone was injured, but she couldn't help feeling validated after trying to help.
Bobby joked that the situation would have been much different if a strange man had been the one telling the child to "grab the pole," making everyone laugh as Amy clarified that all she had actually said was, "Hey, hold on."
