Reese's Created Motorized Door That Dispenses Candy For Halloween 2020

Trick-or-treating for Halloween in 2020 is looking very different due to the pandemic. But one candy company is making sure kids still get candy in a fun way.

Reese's created a robot door. It's a 9-foot high, real door that's been designed to light up, open and automatically distribute a king-sized Reese's peanut butter cup sleeve when someone knocks. The mechanical geniuses at Hershey came up with the idea to make sure gets could safely get candy this year.

The door is powered by three motors that can be operated with a remote control up to 5,000 feet away. If a child knocks, or says "trick-or-treat," then a built-in Bluetooth speaker activates and directs a robotic shelf to slide out of the mail slot and dispense a king-sized Reese's.

The best part is that people can enter their own town in the running to win the door to come to their neighborhood. Just tag @Reese's on Instagram with your explanation of why your town deserves the door using the hashtag #ReesesDoor.
