BASEBALL TEAM GIVES PLAYER A PUPPY AS RETIREMENT GIFT

We LOVE this story! I have a friend who has this breed, a Lagotto Romagnolo, known for hunting truffles, (!!!) and they are hypoallergenic! I need a dog to hunt some truffles for me... ~Shelby

"Adam Wainwright is a baseball pitcher who played his entire 18-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals. He finally retired after this season -- and was celebrated by the Cardinals and their fans in a special way.

About a year ago, Adam announced that he would be retiring -- and promised his kids that he would allow them to have a dog after his last game.

Adam has a big family, four daughters and a son. On his last day of work, the Cardinals arranged for his family to attend a retirement ceremony -- and had a fun surprise planned.

During the event, the team presented Adam and his family with an adorable puppy as a going-away gift.

Now that Adam's baseball career is over, he can now shift his focus to other efforts, including more work with his charity foundation, extra time spent playing guitar and ... of course ... puppy potty training."
