Bayview Cross in Pensacola may go to Supreme Court

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WPMI) — The city of Pensacola is now asking the U.S. Supreme court to hear their case on the Bayview Cross.

The cross has been standing at Bayview Park for almost 75 years, but in 2016, a lawsuit against the city of Pensacola challenged this.

Last week a federal appeals court ruled the cross must come down, but two out of the three judges said the case should go to a higher court.

The Supreme Court could decide to hear the case as late as November when Pensacola will see a new mayor.

Both candidates say if elected they've got a plan for the cross.

For now the cross remains standing.

What are your thoughts.  Leave the Cross standing, or bring it down?
