Sea Turtle case closed

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) — Four people visiting from Georgia could be facing stiff fines and jail time for disturbing a sea turtle nest in Gulf Shores this past weekend.

At least one person in the group has confessed to taking and then trashing two turtle eggs from a nest on West Beach.

The confession comes days after video taken by a condo security camera surfaced showing someone holding what appear to be turtle eggs. Those involved face a possible $100,000 fine and one year in prison.
