First, I'd like to wish everyone a very happy and safe memorial day Weekend. Yes traffic will be heavier trying to go back and forth across the bay, but it's always worth the effort. I hope you get to spend some quality time with the people that mean the most to you.
And as you enjoy some of our beautiful beaches, loose golf balls on one of the spectacular courses we have across the Gulf Coast, or cook out in your backyard, I hope you'll take a moment to remember why we are celebrating this day.
Take a moment to remember the thousands of Americans that gave their lives to defend and protect ours. My father was an Army man. He enlisted on his own from his hometown in Aliceville Alabama. He felt the call of duty and answered that call. He fought in World War 2 and the Korean Conflict. And although he never spoke much of his time in the service, I have always been very proud of my dad, and am always reminded of him on this special weekend.
Let's all salute the American men and women that have fallen for our Country, but let's also remember those who served and still serve today. They are our front line, our guardians, our protectors. may we never forget their sacrifice so that freedom may forever ring. God Bless you all. And happy Memorial Day. Now let's go work on our suntans!
So where did I lay my beach towel?
