The ACM Awards is one of Country Music's premiere events each year. Last night was no exception. I've decided to list a few moments from the show that I found satisfying and entertaining. Let me know what you liked or did not like about the show.
Luke and Dierks as hosts. Once again I found their paring to be right on target. They play off each other very well, compliment each other's talent, and generally make for an entertaining night. The moment Dierks began talking to Luke's wax figure was priceless.
Musical highlights included: Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Plenty of good moments but these really stood out.
From an awards standpoint, hard to argue with Jason Aldan as Entertainer of the Year, although any of the 5 nominees would be very deserving. New male vocalist Jon Pardi was much deserving, and I actually shouted YES! at my TV screen with the Brothers Osborne won Vocal Duo of the Year.
For me personally, the biggest moment of the night was when Florida Georgia Line shared the stage with the Backstreet Boys. No, it was not what we all consider "traditional Country music", but it was real entertainment. And in the end, for concerts and awards programs, we want to be entertained. It was a fantastic performance.
So that's my take. Let me know what you thought of the show.
