International Women's Day and the woman that meant the most to me.

I am very fortunate to work with some of the most talented women in radio here at 95 KSJ. Shelby Mitchell, Johnna Farmer and our entire crew are amazing. But if asked to celebrate one special woman on this date, it would have to be my mother. Joyce Y. Black was a force to be reckoned with. She was a business woman, an Administrative Officer at a bank in Tuscaloosa. Mother of 2, grandmother to 4 and great grandmother 6. Her work ethic was second to none. She was tireless at work, actually going to work daily until she passed at the age of 81. She was also a big supporter of her church where she devoted so much of her time and energy. She taught, through her actions, the value of hard work, never giving up, and giving others your time and talents. She will always be my hero. I only wish she was with me today to celebrate the day. But she is in my heart, always. There is one other woman I need to recognize on this date. Below she is pictured with my mother, my beautiful wife Andrea., Lord, how she puts up with me I'll never know.
