Come and watch some of the nation’s professional cowgirls and cowboys compete for top prize money. Scheduled competition events include bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping and barrel racing. Internationally acclaimed saxophonist, Donald Harrison Jr., will headline the 20th Annual Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival’s JAZZ ON THE RIVER, August 4th at Mobile Convention Center! SAENGER SUMMER CLASSIC MOVIE SERIES: PULP FICTIONSun 3pm, Mobile Saenger Theatre

This summer, the Saenger will again showcase classic hit movies the way they were meant to be seen: larger-than-life on the glorious BIG screen! 154th COMMEMORATIVE OF THE BATTLE OF MOBILE BAY-It’s the famous Civil War battle from which we get the phrase “Damn the torpedoes!”....and it’s commemorated by forts on both sides of Mobile Bay:

--Sat 9am-5pm, Fort Gaines, Dauphin Island

The cannon will be fired every forty-five minutes in honor of the soldiers that fought in this pivotal battle. Come and experience a living history day for the whole family. Blacksmith demonstrations will be on hand all day in the Fort’s Blacksmith Shop.  CLICK HERE

GULF COAST EXPLOREUM “WATER EDUCATION FESTIVAL”Sat 10am-1pm, Gulf Coast Exploreum, downtown Mobile

$10 "Beat the Heat" Summer combo including IMAX/ Water's Extreme Journey exhibit, and permanent exhibits for non-members. The goal of this family oriented day is to spark a conversation about the importance of water management and conservation in our community. This Friday, Station 19 will open its doors to welcome the public for an open house style gathering to meet and greet the crews, tour the station, and learn more about the City of Mobile's fire department.
