Tegan And Sara's 'High School' Memoir Is Getting Its Own TV Series

Despite only being released late last year, Tegan and Sara's memoir, High School, has received the green light to become a series.

Deadline announced the new series on Tuesday (October 20) and reported the series will appear on IMDB TV — Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming service.

“Hey everybody, as you can see we just broke the news that we're going to attempt to make a TV show out of our memoir, High School, with the absolutely fantastic genius Clea DuVall, ” Sara said in a video on social media.

She went on to joke that she and Tegan will take turns playing their mom on the show. “We're just really excited to make our acting career official,” Sara joked in the video. “I just wanted to clarify, I was not being serious when I said we were going to be acting in the show.”

Sadly, while we won't actually be seeing the twins on the show, they will be executive producers behind the scenes.

The official synopsis for the show is described as:
Through a backdrop of ’90s grunge and rave culture, the series tangles itself in the parallel and discordant memories of two sisters growing up down the hall from one another. This is a story about finding your own identity — a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimics your own.

Tegan and Sarah released their ninth studio album, Hey, I'm Just Like You, last September and a release date for the show has yet to be announced.
