From their website:
"The staff and board of the Greater Gulf State Fair is excited to announce our intention to have the 66th annual Fair on November 6-November 22, 2020. As one of Mobile’s oldest traditions, the safety and health of our patrons has ALWAYS been our main priority. As the Fair’s atmosphere will be different this year, our team has worked tirelessly to make sure that we have taken all steps to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our patrons. The Greater Gulf State Fair, and our partner, North American Midway Entertainment, are making every effort to make sure this event is safe and FUN!"
Rides, fair food, and family entertainment (with socially distant circles) WILL happen! YAY! I can almost taste a funnel cake right now.
Dates are set for November 6th through November 22nd (closed on Mon and Tues).
Because of COVID-19, there will be changes like an attendance cap to allow enough room to socially distance (50 square feet per person at that limit). Also more entry points, to avoid crowded lines, nothing inside the main building (everything will be outdoors).
Also no grandstand entertainment (to avoid dense crowds and because not a lot of acts are touring right now) and a Clean Team keeping everything wiped down, 300 sanitation stations set up throughout the fairground, and of course face coverings will be required.
