Commission closely engaged with state, local officials to respond to rise in COVID-19 cases
As COVID-19 cases rise in Santa Rosa County, the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners and Emergency Management continue to work hand-in-hand with hospitals, cities, state government and the department of health.
Currently, the commission and key staff are in daily contact with all stakeholders in the COVID-19 response and are closely monitoring hospital intakes and stand ready to address public health concerns locally.
“The health and safety of our citizens is our top priority. We are monitoring the health care system to ensure there is adequate capacity to respond to any needs that may arise and are still seeing a stable number of hospitalizations in our area,” said Chairman and District 3 Commissioner Don Salter. “As such, we encourage residents to continue to follow social distancing guidelines and recommendations from public health officials as we move through this together.”
The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners encourages residents and visitors, particularly those at high risk, to wear masks in public and continue social distancing in accordance with the Florida State Surgeon General's public health advisory.
