An Ohio preschool teacher didn’t want her young students to miss out on a graduation tradition, so she found a way to make it special for them while social distancing. Fairborn Primary School teacher Sarah Key normally organizes a district-wide preschool graduation ceremony, but since she couldn’t do that this year, she enlisted help from her friend, photographer Melissa Bautista.
And it turns out, Melissa’s good friend, Eryc Perz de Tagle, a well-known wedding and lifestyle photographer in New York City, was staying with her and agreed to help photograph the young grads. The trio organized 13 individual 30-minute graduation photo sessions for the students and their families and the kids loved it, especially getting to see their teacher again.
The photos capture the individual graduation ceremonies Key arranged, complete with a graduation cap for them to wear and toss. “To see the smiles on their faces, it was so priceless,” she says.
