Here’s an unexpected crossover: it turns out Dolly Parton secretly produced “Buffy The Vampire Slayer.” If you’re surprised, know you’re not alone – folks on Twitter are freaking out over the revelation.
Dolly herself isn’t credited as a producer on the long-running fantasy series, but the company she co-created and owned is responsible for bringing it to television. Sandollar Entertainment, created by Parton and her friend SandyGallin in 1986, is in the end credits of every episode. The company has produced several films, including 1996’s “Fly Away Home,” Dolly’s recent Netflix anthology series “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” and the original “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” movie.
Needless to say, fans can’t believe the news. “I was today years old when I found out that Dolly Parton was an uncredited executive producer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” writes on Twitter user. Another shocked fan adds, “there’s no emoji for the look on my face.”
