Thomas Rhett is garnering social media praise over a sweet picture he shared featuring his daughter Willa, who he and wife Lauren adopted from Uganda. In the picture, posted earlier this month, both Thomas and Willa are shown wearing matching silk polka-dot bonnets, and folks on social media are giving Thomas props for respecting his daughter’s hair needs.
Bonnets are something that is an integral part of black hair care, in order to keep hair from frizzing or being damaged by a pillowcase, and many folks have commented about how happy they are to see Thomas and his family proudly showing Willa’s off.
One poster noted that she was happy to see the bonnet because not all “families with adopted kids” take “the time to incorporate the child’s culture or cultural practices into their lives.” Another added, “You have no idea how important and beautiful this is,” with one more commenting, “This is everything!”
