Today is the first day of school for students in Bay Minette, Alabama, but the school's Resource Officers had to report for their 'first day' Monday, August 13.
In some of the photos, officers posed with a sign sharing the officers' name and school. Some signs even share the officers' age and "When I grow up I want to be" with "Police Officer" written below.
Each officer is seen holding a lunch box, two of which are Nemo and Spiderman. According to Tina Covington with Bay Minette, Officer Ronnie Saldin will serve Bay Minette Elementary School, Officer Justin Kelly will protect Bay Minette Middle School, and Sgt. Kendrick Bank will serve as the School Resource Officer at Baldwin County High School.
Resource Officers help the Police Department by eliminating the necessity of calling an officer off the road and into the school should an issue occur.
