The Salvation Army's Angel Tree for Mobile and Baldwin County

Salvation Army of Mobile

MOBILE, AL and PENSACOLA, FL – The Salvation Army will begin its Angel Tree adoption process on Tuesday, November 15 in Mobile and Pensacola.

With the highest inflation rates in four decades, and food and fuel costs rising, The Salvation Army is experiencing a shortage in funding along with an increased demand for services. The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program helps families in need by providing Christmas gifts for their children.

The Salvation Army locations in Mobile and Pensacola are experiencing significant increases in Angel Tree registrations as more families are struggling financially this year. “Only through the generosity of donors can The Salvation Army provide support and bring hope to families in need this holiday season,” Captain Sheri Jones, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama, said.

Once a child is registered with The Salvation Army as an Angel, their Christmas wish list is shared with donors, who purchase gifts of new toys and clothing. Adopters will select an Angel tag, which includes the child’s wish list. When the adopter completes their shopping, they bring their Angel’s wish list tag and gifts to the location where they selected their Angel (or any Salvation Army location). Volunteers and staff will group the Angels by family for the gifts to be distributed to their parents the week before Christmas.

Christmas trees with Angel tags are available at Walmart Vision Centers, Bel Air Mall in Mobile, and the Food Court at the Tanger Outlets in Foley. Or adopters can go to The Salvation Army’s Mobile or Pensacola websites to adopt an Angel. When delivering their purchased gifts, adopters should include their Angel’s wish list tag (including the ID number) they obtained from the trees in stores or from the website.
